Privacy Policy

Introduction

Notifa is a reminder service for personal, family, and work activities. This Privacy Policy explains the personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how Google Calendar access works, and your choices. Notifa is currently in beta.

Information we process

• Account information: name, email address, authentication identifiers, timezone and preferences.
• Reminder data: titles, messages, dates, times, recurrence, notification settings, status and delivery history.
• Contacts and recipients you choose to provide: names, phone numbers, optional email addresses, groups and notes.
• Technical and operational information needed for security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention and reliability.

Google Calendar data and permissions

Connecting Google Calendar is optional. Notifa requests Google Calendar read-only authorization (calendar.readonly). We may retrieve your calendar list and selected calendar events, including titles, descriptions, locations, start and end times, recurrence information, calendar identifiers, and other event metadata necessary for the integration.

We use this data to show selected events alongside reminders, let you manually create Notifa reminders from events, remember calendar selection preferences, and help prevent duplicate imports. Read-only authorization does not let Notifa create, edit, or delete your Google Calendar events.

Calendar data imported into a new Notifa reminder becomes part of that reminder and is separately managed in Notifa.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Notifa's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google Calendar data only to deliver or improve the user-facing Calendar functionality you request. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or advertising profiles, or use it to train generalized AI or machine learning models.

We do not allow human reading of Google user data except where necessary for security, user-requested support, legal compliance, or other circumstances permitted under Google's Limited Use requirements, with access appropriately restricted.

OAuth credentials and disconnecting

To provide an ongoing connection, Notifa may store Google OAuth authorization credentials on the server using technical security controls, including encryption of sensitive tokens. We do not intentionally expose these credentials in the browser.

You can disconnect the Calendar integration in Notifa or revoke authorization from your Google Account. Revocation prevents future authorized access. Existing Notifa reminders created manually from Calendar events are managed separately and are not automatically erased merely by disconnecting. For requests to delete retained Google-derived data, contact our privacy support address.

How we use data

• To authenticate accounts and operate Notifa's reminders, contacts, integrations and notifications.
• To process authorized message delivery and manage delivery status.
• To respond to requests, fix errors and maintain service security.
• To detect and prevent misuse, unauthorized access, spam and fraud.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

Recipients and messaging providers

When you choose to send reminders to others, recipient phone numbers and message content may be processed by messaging providers solely as needed to deliver messages. You must have appropriate permission or another lawful basis to provide recipient information and contact them. Notifa is not intended for unsolicited bulk messages or harassment. Third-party messaging platforms have their own privacy terms.

Service providers and international processing

We use infrastructure, authentication, cloud, monitoring, messaging and other service providers to operate Notifa. They may process relevant information on our behalf, limited to the services they provide. Information may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country, subject to applicable laws and safeguards. We do not sell personal data.

AI assistance

Some conversational features may use AI services to interpret user instructions. Notifa validates authorized reminder actions. Google Calendar data obtained through Google APIs is not used to train generalized AI models. Any material changes to processing of Google data by AI tools will be disclosed before launch.

Retention and deletion

We retain information for as long as needed to operate your account, fulfill requested features, maintain security and satisfy legal requirements. Retention may vary by category and backup or audit requirements. You can request access, correction or deletion by contacting us; we will assess and fulfill requests in accordance with applicable law. We do not promise immediate deletion of all backup or security records.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted transport, server-side credentials, access controls and security monitoring. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Notifa is not specifically directed to children. Where a child's data is processed in a manner requiring permission under applicable law, the required authorization must be obtained.

Beta changes and contact

During beta, features and data practices may evolve. Material policy updates will be reflected here with a revised date and appropriate notice.
